Welcome to an evening of performance art at Galleri F 15!
We start this year’s Thursday evening program with an evening of performance art. Here you will have the opportunity to experience live performance by Finn Adrian Jorkjen and Elise Nohr, and to see the exhibition by Marina Abramović, who is often referred to as the grandmother of performance art.
Performance art is art where the artist uses their own body, presence and actions as part of the work. Marina Abramović is known for making performances that challenge the limits of the body and mind through pain, endurance and transformation.
But there are many different types of performance! Tonight you will meet two artists who work with the same art form, in completely different ways, who deal with highly topical themes of creativity, vulnerability and humor.

The evening begins in F 15 workshop, with a performance by Finn Adrian Jorkjen. The day Finn realized that “life coach” is not a protected title, everything changed. The performance takes its starting point from the format of the inspirational lecture and examines society’s constant expectation to be the “best version” of oneself. Through the use of heart rate monitors, energy drinks and skin care products, Jorkjen invites us to have a critical look at the logic of self-optimization, while also pointing to the power of the collective.
From there, the evening continues to the exhibition space, where we meet Elise Nohr. When Nohr was 10 years old, she dreamed of becoming a goalkeeper for her favorite football team, Manchester United. The dream was shattered: As a girl, she was told to just forget about it! Elise hatched a new plan, and decided to become an elite athlete in something completely different – art. Today, she is an award-winning artist, known for her unique performance expression, where she uses “slow motion” and makes her own costumes. In the production Man Chest Hair Unites, she invites the audience to join in realizing her goalkeeping dream, and creates a temporary community around a fictional football team.
The performance was developed in collaboration with the National Museum and will be used on tour with the Cultural School Backpack for upper secondary schools, but is here adapted for a general audience. It is possible to participate in the performance as a player or supporter.
