Welcome to gather with us!
In the live program, we will be presenting artists working with diverse artistic practices, subject matter, and media that, in turn, encourage different types of participation.
For this event, artist Stacy Brafield introduces the audience to the school of questions.
the school of questions is a methodology created by artist Stacy Brafield that turns the notion of a school upside-down to focus on questioning rather than providing answers. As we meander through our daily lives we instinctively attempt to solve all the puzzles placed in front of us. Making “languages” to make sense of all these things. Well, this methodology attempts to do the opposite by breaking this instinct. Instead of our instinctual position of solving the puzzle of an artwork, we flip the perspective and retaliate by asking it questions instead!
