Don’t feed the monster! is an exhibition that critically questions the clothing industry´s impact on the environment, allowing for a multifaceted investigation of the topic. The textile- and clothing industry is one of the largest industries in the world, and among the most polluting industries globally. Consumption of clothes in the world is increasing and the number of times a piece of garment is worn before disposal is shrinking. At the same time only a small amount of textile and clothes are reused or recycled. The exhibition puts a spotlight on the situation as it is today, and the works presented both engage and provoke for change. The twelve participating designers and artists share their ideas, methods and alternative stories. This includes visual narratives, contemporary design solutions, activism, development of new technologies and renewed use of resources as well as cultural history surveys. All the participating artists have a fixed gaze at the acute.
