Solo Exhibition 2016
Espen Dietrichson works with sculptures ‒ in acid-proof steel, watercolor and silkscreen print ‒ of deconstructed modernistic high-rises. Pursuing his interest for architecture and spatiality, Dietrichson will work with the garden at F 15 in direct connection with the ground floor.
His works will be developed within the framework of a single idea, so composite interconnections are formed, alternating between lightness and heaviness, surfaces and illusionistic spaces. Through consistent use of materials, ambivalent constructions will emerge, both poetic and brutal, executed with precise craftsmanship. Dietrichson will make an artist book for the exhibition, in cooperation with the poet Nils Christian Moe Repstad.
Espen Dietrichson (b. 1976) grew up in Arendal (in Southern Norway) but now lives in Oslo. He was educated at the National Academy of Arts and is represented at Gallery Haaken in Oslo. He has done a number of exhibitions – both group and solo exhibits, most recently Wide Open at Gallery Haaken in Oslo (2014) and Seven Years Later (Syv år senere), at Bomuldsfabriken Kunsthall in Arendal.
