Tendenser 2024 – Biennale for Nordic Contemporary Crafts

First presented as an annual exhibition in 1971, Tendenser focuses on contemporary crafts from across the Nordic countries. Since 2016, Tendenser has followed a biennial cycle, allowing for an in-depth exploration of important developments within the craft field.
For the 2024 edition, the curators Maria C. Havstam and Anne Klontz, invite Nordic-based artists with practices relating to textiles to submit proposals from which a minimum of one artist will be selected to participate. The curators’ vision for the exhibition will focus on materiality and the craft of the hand in today’s world. The proposals should respond to the question: How does creating with the hand and materiality help us to rethink the society around us?
